He received a Ph.D. from the Graduate School at Kokugakuin University and has a doctorate in Shinto studies. He studied for three years from 1971 at the University of Coimbra, Portugal. He is currently professor for the Faculty of Shinto Studies and Graduate School at Kokugakuin University.

After working for an advertising agency, she established herself as an illustrator under the name “Denali.” She travels around the world gathering inspiration for her work. She is gaining popularity among all generations for her unique view on the world, which is rich in story and imagination.
Translator:Jonathan LeaskJonathan Leask was born in 1976. In 1999 he graduated from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, with an honours degree in Japanese and subsequently moved to Japan to take up a coordinator for international relations position in Kyushu. After several years as an in-house translator for a leading Japanese manufacturer in Tokyo, he set out on his own to expand his horizons in other branches of translation.
